Jayden Curtis Commits To UCF
The Knights land a big-time commitment as 3 Star St Martin (Miss) DT Jayden Curtis chooses UCF over Memphis, Ole Miss, Tulane, and others.
ORLANDO, FL - UCF and Scott Frost have continued to build a foundational class, and land a big fish with Three-Star St Martin (Ocean Springs, Miss) defensive lineman Jayden Curtis announcing his commitment today. A visitor during the first weekend of June, Curtis has been a massive priority of defensive tackles coach Kenny Martin’s for a long-time which has been very important to him ultimately making the decision to come to Orlando. As a junior Curtis played primarily on the outside of the defensive line, recording 52 tackles, 15 tackles for loss, 6 sacks, a forced fumble, and an interception, but Martin was one of the first coaches to recognize his potential on the inside, offering him his second Division I offer and his first to a Power Four school. The offers continued to come in for Curtis, but the relationship he built with Martin was critical to his recruitment.
The FUTURE is looking even brighter!! Just got a Difference Maker!!! 😤😤

Initially planning to commit ahead of Independence Day as he did it was actually expected that he would delay his recruitment after visits to UCF, Memphis, Tulane, and Ole Miss with the Knights and Rebels battling it out for his commitment. The expectation entering July was that UCF was the team to beat as they prioritized him, but Ole Miss being the power school in his home state and getting the final face-to-face visit was making things interesting. Curtis stuck through with the school that stuck with though and becomes a massive pickup for Martin’s defensive tackle room. He landed Three-Star Wekiva (Apopka, Fla) defensive tackle Isaiah McNish who will now pair excellently with Curtis with two fitting nicely together as an interior pairing. On tape Curtis shows quick moves to get off the line of scrimmage and cause disruptions in the backfield, fitting perfectly into the defensive tackle role that John Walker will operate from this season which will pair perfectly with a nose tackle like McNish who can clog and messy up other gaps allowing him more freedom to attack.

Curtis’s commitment means the Knights’ recruiting class currently ranks 61st in the nation and 13th in the Big 12 according to 247Sports, while ranking 60th in the country and 12th in conference according to On3/Rivals.
As always I will be active on social media, my XTwitter is now SLeonard27.
Any other targets for us look out for with commitments date set stephen?
If we can fend off Ole Miss, seems like one of the bigger gets of the class.
